Sunlight, Monhegan

This scene depicts the harbor which bisects Monhegan Island from Manana, but the true subject is the overwhelming effect of light.  It seems to collect in-between the islands and forms a "light pool. "  It is unique and every object is immersed in light--either direct of reflected.   The textural effects created with paint and various additives vary in correspondence to the substance being portrayed.  The sky, earth, rocks, and water each have specific texture which corresponds to their unique tactile qualities depicted in this painting.
