The Warmth of the Tuscan Sun

I spent two weeks painting near Montalcino with a group of Italian and American painters.  This scene is derived from a series of about 10 sketches of the same abandoned farmhouse.  The painting, "Drifting Clouds" depicts the same building from a different angle.  In both paintings I altered the terrain to create a more dynamic composition.   The image of the stone and wood farmhouse decaying back into the earth from which it came was intriguing to me.
