Manhattan from the Palisades

This was painted from a plein air sketch I made of the sunlight reflection off the Hudson River.  I added the schooner and oil tanker as there was shipping going up and down the river as I painted, and they serve as a foil to display the effect of sunlight on nearby objects.   Ultimately this painting is really about the light.
